We currently have a vacancy for a Network & Systems Engineer fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert who will be based in Italy. The work will be carried out either in the company’s premises or on-site at customer premises. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated with the Development team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client’s IT team on site.Your tasks
  • Installation and configuration of system components and server software, including patch management;
  • Support both daily operations for relevant services and contribute to the execution of new projects;
  • Operating and monitoring of infrastructure, systems, servers;
  • Incident management, Change enablement, Request fulfilment, Problem management: definition, analysis and resolution;
  • Evaluation and implementation of security standards;
  • Participate in defining and documenting operational procedures.
Requirements
  • University degree in IT combined with relevant IT professional experience of 6 years;
  • Expert-level knowledge of Switching Technologies, particularly Cisco, with strong skills in Layer 2 network design;
  • Strong expertise in Routing Technologies, including dynamic routing protocols and Layer 3 network design;
  • Hands-on experience with Wi-Fi technologies, especially Cisco wireless products;
  • Solid understanding of network protocol services such as NTP, DNS, DHCP, and SNMP;
  • Familiarity with Cisco ACI networking technology (hardware knowledge is a plus);
  • Experience with VMware NSX platform;
  • Proficiency in Network Quality of Service (QoS) techniques and technologies;
  • Knowledge of Network Security practices, techniques, and technologies;
  • Hands-on experience with Linux system administration (Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, and similar distributions);
  • Knowledge of Network Access Control (NAC) systems;
  • Experience in operating and monitoring infrastructure, systems, and servers (PRTG preferred);
  • Familiarity with IDS/IPS technologies for network intrusion detection and prevention;
  • Working knowledge of firewall technologies, particularly Cisco and Fortinet systems;
  • Understanding of VPN standards and technologies;
  • Experience with network logging systems, including Syslog and SIEM log correlation tools;
  • Cisco certifications: CCNA required; CCNP (or equivalent from other networking vendors) is a strong plus
  • Excellent command of the English language.
