- Leading the development and improvement of additive manufacturing processes for both new and existing components, ensuring solutions are scalable and meet BH’s design, quality, and operational standards.
- Providing technical leadership and coaching to personnel supporting assigned projects, fostering the technical growth and competencies of junior engineers.
- Developing comprehensive test plans, analyzing test data, drawing conclusions, and documenting technical data generated from projects in line with BH’s engineering policies and procedures.
- Working with cross-functional teams, Global Supply Managers, and BH suppliers to align manufacturing development strategies with clear goals, schedules, and expectations. Ensuring timely and effective communication of progress, issues, and technical findings.
- Identifying and implementing appropriate fabrication equipment and processes to meet design and operational requirements.
- Participating as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews, providing insights and recommendations to drive continuous improvement and support long-term business objectives.
- Contributing to broader organizational initiatives and addressing generic issues, leveraging cross-functional learnings and building on your knowledge of critical stakeholders.
- Ensuring that our additive manufacturing solutions not only meet the immediate design and production requirements but also support the long-term strategic objectives of BH.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a Master's in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Have relevant experience with CAD and CAM tools for build preparation in support of metal 3D printed component production.
- Have strong experience in mechanical product development, manufacturing engineering, tooling engineering, high-precision fabrication, or related roles.
- Have some experience with topology optimization tools applied to metal components.
- Show proficiency in applying hands-on engineering methods and problem-solving techniques.
- Have expertise in Design of Experiments (DOE), Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Have experience with post-processing techniques, including milling, tumble finishing, heat treatment, and workshop operations.
- Have very good communication skills, able to provide timely updates and lead discussions on process development and technical challenges.
- Occasional remote working as required. 3 days per week in office - 2 days home based working.
