This role plays a key part in reducing environmental impact, strengthening regulatory compliance, and accelerating progress toward a sustainable energy future. You will lead initiatives to decarbonize transportation, optimize resources, and embed circular economy principles across air, sea, and land logistics. A strong focus lies on global packaging governance, standards, and regulatory compliance, including evolving frameworks such as PPWR. Operating in a highly international environment, you will balance strategic direction with hands-on execution while collaborating with diverse stakeholders across regions and business units. You will report directly to the Head of Trade, Transportation and Logistics.How you’ll make an impact

Define and execute the global sustainability strategy for transport, logistics, and packaging, aligned with corporate ESG and net‑zero ambitions
Lead CO₂ emissions reporting for logistics activities in line with GHG Protocol standards and corporate targets
Identify and implement measures to reduce emissions across transportation routes, fleet usage, warehousing, and packaging
Own global packaging standards and strategy, ensuring safety, quality, cost efficiency, material compliance, and circularity
Govern packaging regulatory compliance globally, assessing impacts and mitigating risks in close collaboration with Legal and SCM functions
Drive packaging market intelligence, monitoring trends, regulations, and indexes to inform strategy and stakeholders
Engage and influence internal stakeholders across regions and functions to embed sustainability into daily operations

Your background

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Transportation/Logistics
Minimum 15 years of experience in Sustainability, SCM, or Transportation within complex, international environments
Proven track record in ESG reporting, environmental impact assessments, monitoring/testing, and regulatory implementation

Demonstrated expertise in global regulatory frameworks related to sustainability and packaging, with a strong focus on governance, risk mitigation, and operational compliance.Experience with SAP S/4HANA (e.g. TM, GTS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is an assetDemonstrated ability to lead multi‑stakeholder programs, influence through facts and governance, and drive organizational changeExcellent communication and presentation skills, with business‑level fluency in English and high standards for accuracy, ethics, and governanceQualified individuals with a disability may request a reasonable accommodation if you are unable or limited in your ability to use or access the Hitachi Energy career site as a result of your disability.
