RINA is currently recruiting for a Software Embedded System Engineer to join its office in Rome within the Digital Technology and Cybersecurity Division.MissionRina is looking for a software embedded engineer to partecipate and supervise software development activities within internal project. In particular, this position focusing on designing, developing and verifying embedded software for avionics system. We are looking for a technical leader that is able to:
  • collaborate with hardware engineers, system architects and other stakeholders to ensure that Rina avionics systems meet the highest standards of safety, reliability and performance.
  • Coordinate the team activities and mentoring youngest members
You will have strong understanding as well as experience in real-time embedded system, software development and system integration.Key AccountabilitiesHere the skills we are looking for
  • Software development:
  • Design and implementation embedded software applications for avionics systems
  • Development software in compliance with DO-178C or similar safety-critical standards
  • Implementation software requirements and design applications
  • Integration software into target equipment
  • System design:
  • Participate in the definition of system architecture and software requirements
  • Work with system engineers to allocate requirements to software components
  • Conduct trade-off analysis to determine optimal solution.
  • System integration
  • Debug the embedded software onto the target equipment
  • Support the V&V team during testing and validation activities for defect analysis
  • Solve detected problems implementing the needed correction
  • Documentation
  • Prepare and maintain software documentation in accordance company and industry standard
  • Generate reports and documentation for regulatory compliance
  • Collaboration and communication
  • Work closely with hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration of software and hardware components
  • Collaborate with cross-functionals teams to solve issues and optimize system performance
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide status updates and technical assessment
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancement in avionic software
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance software development lifecycle
QualificationsMinimum of 3 years of relevant engineering experience.
Proficiency in design calculations, drafting, and engineering software.
Strong understanding of technical documentation and project management processes.
Ability to review and interpret technical documents and designs effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in field data collection and willingness to engage in fieldwork activities.
Attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure.
Commitment to upholding safety standards and protocols.
