With $5 billion in sales, a strong customer base and global reach spanning nearly 70 countries, we are uniquely positioned to deliver greater value to our customers and create new opportunities for our people.We are seeking a Software Engineer for Advanced Engineering to join our team in Piove di Sacco, Italy!As Software Engineer for Advanced Engineering you will be responsible for developing and implementing the control software of prototypes of industrial refrigeration units, collaborating closely with the advanced engineering group, within which specific automation algorithms related to prototype-projects (characterized by high innovation content) are discussed, developed and tested.What kind of work will you be doing?
  • Support for the development of specific automation algorithms for HVAC unit prototypes;
  • Support for testing control algorithms in Software In-the-Loop environment;
  • Support for the choice of the best target (PLC) according to the resources required by the algorithm to be implemented;
  • Implementation of the generated code on the selected target for the prototype;
  • Changes and/or implementation of new features on existing software;
  • Support for laboratory tests on the physical prototype (for the automation part only)
What will make you successful?
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the industrial automation industry;
  • Minimum 3 years of PLC programming experience for commercial/industrial HVAC units;
  • Ability to design the software architecture for the automation of prototype HVAC units;
  • Ability to program the management of inputs/outputs in PLCs for industrial automation;
  • Office software literate;
  • Nice to have: Fluent speaking, reading, and writing in Italian and English language;
  • Nice to have: European/global regulatory requirements on the HVAC industry;
  • Good to have: European regulatory requirements on cyber security;
  • Nice to have: Basic knowledge of LabView;
  • Knowledge and management of communication on industrial protocols (e.g. modbus, TCP/IP);
  • Ability to write test plans for control algorithms;
  • Teamwork: naturally inclined to work in a team;
  • Available to support physical prototype testing in the lab
