Through our work, we build a bridge to the future, generating value over time.We are looking for a Shipping and Customs Officer, to be included in the Logistics department for the Supply Chain function.The main Tasks of the Shipping and Customs Officer in Saipem are:
  • manage all Project shipping & customs activities in direct coordination with Project Management and the various interfaces involved in the Supply Chain process (i.e. Engineering, Procurement, Material Management, Expediting & Inspection team, Project Logistics Managers and their operational logistics team on site, Construction team, End Users/Customers) in order to ensure that all goods are delivered to their final destination in a safe and timely manner according to the Project schedule.
  • estimate the cost of each individual shipment in line with the terms and conditions of the agreements and, once the shipping and customs clearance service is completed, finalize the costs in SAP by arranging work orders and service entry sheets
  • activate shipments in line with the terms and conditions of the available transport service agreements by providing all the instructions to the appointed transport service providers and follow the shipment up to the final destination
  • ensure coordination with material suppliers to obtain the shipping and customs documentation in accordance with the customs clearance procedure of the countries of transit and destination
  • prepare shipping documentation such as certification of origin, invoices and everything needed to ship the goods to the final destination.
  • ensure coordination with material suppliers regarding the delivery of goods in line with INCOTERMS indicated in the purchase order.
  • ensure proper flow of information and track project shipping and customs activities with tools/software available from time to time, updating the shipping and material status report or any other document needed to track the status of the various shipments.
  • distribute Shipping Instructions through the Project organization and through the Shipping & Customs Network.
  • availability for long-term overseas assignments
Qualifications and Experiences required:
  • Graduate or diploma preferably in technical subjects.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Shipping and Customs/Logistics activities in Oil & Gas or Energy industry.
  • Fluent in English (at least B1 level).
  • Deep knowledge of INCOTERMS
  • Good knowledge of shipping and charteri-ng terms and technical terminologies related to maritime shipments
  • Teamwork and leadership skills and crossfunctional team coordination attitude.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Work Location: Milano with possible business trips in Italy or abroad and/or overseas contracts.
