Working closely with Project Management and Project Controls, you will play a key role in cost reporting, forecasting, and financial performance across the full project lifecycle.Key Responsibilities Cost Planning & Budgeting
- Develop and implement the project cost control plan in line with the Project Execution Plan (PEP)
- Establish and maintain the Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
- Prepare and manage the project budget based on contract scope and approved estimates
- Allocate budgets across disciplines, departments, and subcontractors
- Track actual costs against budget, commitments, and forecasts
- Analyse cost trends and identify potential overruns, recommending corrective actions
- Ensure accurate cost coding and allocation within financial/ERP systems
- Monitor subcontractor and vendor costs against contractual agreements
- Produce monthly cost reports including actuals, commitments, forecasts, and variance analysis
- Maintain and update Estimate at Completion (EAC) and Estimate to Complete (ETC)
- Conduct detailed variance analysis across labour, materials, equipment, and subcontract costs
- Assess cost impacts of variations and change orders
- Maintain a register of approved and pending changes with associated cost implications
- Support claims preparation and commercial discussions from a cost perspective
- Prepare weekly and monthly cost reports for internal stakeholders and clients
- Support project review meetings with up-to-date cost performance data
- Interface with planning, procurement, and engineering teams to ensure alignment and data accuracy
- Onshore: Fabrication yard activities, civil works, procurement, utilities, and logistics
- Offshore: Installation campaigns, marine spread, vessel/barge costs, and offshore logistics
- Key Risk Areas: Material price escalation, vendor delays, equipment standby, weather impacts, marine mobilisation/demobilisation, SIMOPS constraints
- Reporting Focus: Fabrication productivity and cost KPIs, offshore campaign cost tracking and time charter monitoring
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail in financial data
- Proven experience in cost control within oil & gas, energy, or major infrastructure projects
- Ability to interpret cost reports and provide meaningful commercial insights
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Effective team player with cross-functional coordination capability
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Finance, or related discipline
- Experience in cost control or project controls within major projects
- Excellent written and spoken English, with strong reporting capability
