Offer DescriptionThe CHAOS project is focused on the fabrication of unclonable physical keys based on liquid crystalline materials and polymers. The PRIN 2022 - PNRR project "Chirality induction in water based self-assembling materials" aims to study the self-assembly mechanisms of a particular class of materials, chromonics, which exhibit liquid crystalline properties depending on their concentration in water. The researcher will work on preparing anti-counterfeiting devices based on optical PUF keys. Optical keys will be prepared using water-based polymeric materials, liquid crystals and fluorescent dyes. The researcher will be in charge of optimizing the devices for an industrial experimentation. Finally, the researcher will investigate the possibility of using chromonic liquid crystals, immersed in polymer matrices, to make biocompatible devices capable of tracking and monitoring goods in the agri-food supply chain.RequirementsAdditional InformationEligibility criteriaCorrespondence of curriculum and capabilities to the research subjects.Eligible destination country/ies for fellows:
