ECS Category Senior SpecialistWe are seeking a Category Senior Specialist to join ECS, the newly constituted multi-country, multi-brand & omnichannel coffee player, part of Lavazza Group. In this role, you will support the execution of medium- and long-term cross-country strategies for products in a consumer/retail business with a B2B component, where end consumers are often reached through intermediaries like offices or public organizations. Your focus will be on the OCS/Vending channel, leveraging both physical and online routes to market. You will assist in analyzing trends, implementing strategic priorities, and driving operational initiatives to achieve category goals, working within a portfolio that includes proprietary, co-designed, and fully third-party-manufactured solutions.πŸ“Š Your day-to-day activities:
  • Support the adaptation and implementation of medium and long-term sales strategies for key categories (machines, coffee, and adjacent categories) in alignment with strategic plans and market requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Category Manager to develop and execute end-to-end product category plans, balancing internal development, co-design with third parties, and fully third-party-owned solutions to meet business objectives.
  • Work closely with R&D, Procurement, IT/Digital/Business Tech, and Finance to refine and operationalize category plans, from identifying opportunities to supporting product and solution marketing.
  • Partner with marketing, trade marketing, and sales teams in ECS markets to implement category plans, focusing on the operational aspects of product and solution launches and supporting growth initiatives.
  • Track category objectives and sales volume budgets, ensuring alignment with profitability goals; assist in monitoring and managing the budget for category activities.
  • Conduct market analysis, tracking category trends, competitor activities, and consumer/shopper behavior to identify growth opportunities and inform operational decisions.
  • Monitor KPIs and sales performance metrics, highlight areas for improvement, and provide detailed reports and actionable insights to the Category Manager and senior stakeholders.

  • Previous experience in category management, particularly in the retail sector
  • Strong commercial acumen and proactive approach
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • The position is based between Torino/Milano and requires frequent international travel
