- Full time
Join our Turbomachinery Team! Our TPS team provides industry-leading products and services that optimize the production and processing of energy. We help a diverse range of customers across the value chain to reduce operating costs and improve productivity. Our team looks at the development and creation of the future of energy technology products.Work with the latest innovationsYou will be collaborating with the CFD and Ventilation Systems team within the Baker Hughes "Gas Turbines Systems Integration" organization. You will start from project or program requirements, apply diverse and robust start-of-the-art fluid computational models, and perform detailed analyses of gas turbine enclosures ventilation systems, preparing the reports and communicating outcomes to the Team and Customer. You will drive innovation process for CFD domain, scouting new technologies and validating alternative techniques, also supporting Baker Hughes effort in Energy Transition by applying CFD methods to unconventional applications. You will ensure compliance to International Standards and internal policies for safety of gas turbines enclosures ventilation systems, driving robust engineering practices and leading the way for future improvements. You will perform design activities for ventilation equipment and relevant supporting structures, selecting main items and using structural verification tools to evaluate overall system behavior. As Gas Turbine Ventilation Systems & CFD Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Carrying out CFD analyses of gas turbines ventilated enclosures, starting from domain meshing to boundary conditions definition and results post-processing
- Critically assessing CFD simulation results to ensure compliance of the overall system performance to International Standards, designing practices, procedures, safety regulations and product/project requirements
- Cooperating with project and program team members, driving design choices related to ventilation system main equipment (e.g. ventilation fans), structures, and instrumentation
- Developing the analysis report and documentation in accordance with the project schedule, providing timely communications on significant issues or developments
- Documenting, reporting, and reviewing results within team and with chief/principal engineers.
- Scout innovative CFD techniques and methods applicable to gas turbine enclosures ventilation systems, performing validation tests and defining suitability based on the application
- Supporting Energy Transition efforts by applying CFD and mono-dimensional fluid systems simulations for unconventional applications, including hydrogen gas leak and complex ventilation networks steady state and transient models
- Support design activities for ventilation systems equipment selecting main items and using fluid networks simulation tools to evaluate overall performances
- Perform mechanical verifications of ventilation systems supporting structures, using main international codes (ASCE, AISC, Eurocodes) and computational tools (e.g., SAP2000)
- Bachelors or Masters in Engineering or PhD ( Mechanical or Energy)
- Previous experience in CFD calculation of turbomachinery equipment.
- Master 3D modelling using CAD software (Siemens NX or similar).
- Demonstrate knowledge of International Codes and Standards for Energy and Oil & Gas industry (ASME, API, NACE, ASTM, ISO).
- Have the capability to model physic behavior through specific tools (ANSYS - FLUENT/CFX, Simcenter STAR-CCM+, COMSOL).
- Working flexible hours - flexing the times when you work in the day to help you fit everything in and work when you are the most productive
- Contemporary work-life balance policies and wellbeing activities
- Comprehensive private medical care options
- Safety net of life insurance and disability programs
