Offer DescriptionThe objective of the research is to optimize protocols for extracting proteins from prokaryotic organisms such as bacteria and cyanobacteria associated with the rhizosphere of Posidonia oceanica seeds. Therefore, innovative techniques for "meta-proteomics" will need to be developed to investigate proteins secreted by roots and those expressed by the microbiota in rhizosphere layers during root formation. To perform meta-proteomic analysis, the research objective will be to generate reduced reference proteomes: peptides produced by in silico trypsinization will be compared across sequence databases downloaded from different species (microalgae and bacteria restricted to marine genera). This database will be used to identify the proteins extracted from rhizosphere samples through mass spectrometry analysis. Proteins will be classified according to their taxonomy, biological functions, and complete FASTA sequences, and analyzed for protein domains, motifs, folding, and structure.RequirementsAdditional InformationEligibility criteriaEligible destination country/ies for fellows:
