To strengthen our service team, we are now looking for a dedicated Service Engineer (m/f/d) to join us in delivering excellence to our customers.Role Overview
As a Service Engineer, you will play a key role in commissioning and maintaining automation and navigation systems on board vessels. Your work will involve both technical independence and close collaboration with colleagues in Site Management and the technical office. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with shipyards, cruise lines, and merchant vessel operators, ensuring system functionality and customer satisfaction.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform commissioning and field service activities according to the agreed work planConduct troubleshooting, testing, fine-tuning, and adjustments of automation and control systemsCarry out installation and pre-commissioning checks and activitiesPerform commissioning and handover of systems to customers and shipyardsExecute major and complex repairs, including complete overhauls when requiredLead and manage assigned teams and activities during work executionInteract professionally with customers, providing technical support and updates during assignmentsReport on internal and external progress of assigned workPrepare and deliver accurate service reports and documentationEnsure compliance with NACOS Marine’s Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines as well as customer site proceduresProvide advice and promote available products and solutions to customers
Key RequirementsDegree, diploma, or technical qualification in automation, electrical, or marine engineering (or equivalent experience)Minimum of 2 years’ relevant professional experience, preferably on board cruise or merchant vesselsUnderstanding of automation and vessel control systemsHands-on experience with Platinum, XD-DNA, or Lyngsø automation systems is highly desirableStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilitiesWillingness to travel frequently and work independently in international environmentsExcellent communication skills in English; additional languages are a plusStructured, self-driven, and customer-focused mindset
