​OVERALL PURPOSE OF ROLEWe are looking for a Contract Manager to be hired in the Business Unit Projects. Prysmian Powerlink provides state-of-the-art solutions for High Voltage Underground and Submarine cable links in some of the world’s most challenging environments.The Contract Manager supports the Project Director, Senior Project Manager and Project Manager in addressing all aspects related to the Contracts with the Customer and the Subcontractors during all phases of the projects, with a focus on execution.KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Managing the contracts lifecycle during project execution and warranty phases, including but not limited to: review and draft of amendments, contractual documents, renewal of contracts;
  • Providing guidance and interpretation of contractual clauses and requirements. Advise the Project Director / Manager on any aspect of the Project execution which deviates from the requirements of the Contract;
  • Safeguarding contractual obligations including tracking and timely issuance of notifications, monitoring of milestones and payments in cooperation with the project team;
  • Focal point for promoting awareness on contracts provisions. Prepare initial contract review, organise contract induction meetings, issue reports, interpretations and assessments on contracts;
  • Support and champion the change management process. This includes drafting and reviewing change orders, claims, back charges and penalties, defence of incoming claims vis-a-vis customers, subcontractors and key vendors;
  • Claims avoidance and management;
  • Monitoring with PM all the contractual milestones and related payments;
  • Cooperation and liaison with corporate functions, e.g. finance, legal, compliance, IP on specific matters and possible disputes;
  • Administrate all contractual correspondence between Customer/Subcontractors and Contractor and between joint venture/consortium partners;
  • Assist subcontracting \ procurement department in the management of contract related correspondence and in the management of claims \ litigations aspects.
  • Contributing to Project “close-out” activities with clients, partners, subcontractors, and major vendors ensuring all required certificates are duly issued / received e.g. milestone completion certificates, handover certificate, acceptance certificate.

  • Degree in law/ business administration / management
  • Availability to frequent business travels
  • Knowledge of cable business is preferred
  • Proven knowledge of EPCI suite of contracts
Minimum Experience:
  • Experience as contract manager or portfolio contract manager (min. 3 years) with different customers and contractual frameworks.
  • Proven track record in successfully preparing and negotiating contracts, amendments and variations.
  • Significant participation in the creation and negotiation of subcontracts in an international environment and successful implementation of back-to-back conditions.
  • Experience in dealing with multi-disciplinary teams in a technical working environment.
  • In-depth experience in dealing with and minimizing project risks.
  • Consistent achievement / improvement of projects financial targets.
Key Competences:
