- Continuous updating of Material Library and seeking for the latest product and innovation in any material sector. Stays in touch with the Geneva and London Office Material Library, to keep mirrored samplings.
- Communicates with Suppliers to request sample suitable for Marine use (IMO MED certification), to check availability of it and, if requested, to get bespoke samples.
- Updates the coded archive of all bespoke items, to ensure accurate record for any future reference.
- Prepares detailed material book and Specifications for Guest and Crew areas, with coding and description of material and relevant positioning, and keeps it updated recording any modification or replacement.
- Prepares digital material board and collects relevant actual sample to be dispatched to the Shipyard.
- Works in close collaboration with the FF&E Team, with regards to upholstering and finishing.
- Supports the definition of alternative item in case of material replacement working close with the New Building Team and Q&R Dept., keeping an eye on any economic impact.
- Checks Contractors and Yard Drawings focusing on material codes and positioning to ensure they are correct.
- Checks and evaluates actual samples dispatched by Contractors, checking quality, finishing, durability, exact matching to reference sample.
- Checks and evaluates mock-up when requested.
- Qualification in Interior Design / Design / Art Studies / Architecture or related field
- Experience working in a similar role within interior design or architecture or within the cruise industry.
- Strong IT Skills including Excel, Power-Point, Auto-cad and Photoshop, familiarity with Rhino, Revit or Sketchup
- Ability to check and review technical drawings (plan, elevation, section and detail)
- Availability to travel for mock-up reviews, factory visits, and onboard inspections
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and archiving.
- Excellent organisation and communication skills.
- The existing right to live and work in the EU
- Fluent English language skills (additional languages are a plus).
