The successful candidate will play a key role in planning, implementing, and maintaining cloud environments, ensuring alignment with security standards and business objectives.This position requires a blend of technical expertise and managerial acumen, including vendor negotiation, cross-functional coordination, and clear communication with senior leadership on project progress and outcomes.Responsibilities:Working with the IT team to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the organization.Supporting the planning, designing, and developing cloud-based applications.Managing the cloud environment in accordance with the organization’s security guidelines.Supporting the deployment and debugging of cloud initiatives as needed in accordance with best practices throughout the development lifecycle.Leading and developing best practices for a larger cloud engineering team.Building and designing web services in the cloudOrchestrating and automating cloud-based platforms throughout the organization.Essential Qualifications & Experience:MandatoryBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or EngineeringThree to five years’ experience in a Cloud Engineer role or related positionRelevant training and/or certification as a Cloud EngineerExperience with Active Directory Domain Services (ADDS) and Active Directory Federation Services (AFDS), PKI, OU structures and Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, Hyper-V, VMWareExperience with SOA applications and cloud-based services, preferably AWSExperience working with OpenStack, Linux/UNIX, Rackspace, Docker, and Microsoft AzureKnowledge of web services, API, REST, and RPCStrong awareness of networking and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and distributed networksDesirableMaster’s degree in Computer Science or EngineeringCertified AWS Solutions Architect, Cloud Security Certification, and/or OpenStack Administrator Certification.Experience in developing software using languages such as Java and PythonService knowledge of Windows PowerShell 2.0Extensive experience with open-source technology, software development, and system engineering.Database experience, including knowledge of SQL and NoSQL, and related data stores such as Postgres.Excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to stay focused on completing tasks and meeting goals within a busy workspace.Interest in Cloud Engineering and its impact on greater business practices.Skilled at working in tandem with a team of engineers, or alone as requiredPrevious experience in NATO and knowledge of NATO policiesIf you've read the description and feel this role is a great match, we'd love to hear from you!
