- Identify and close sales opportunities to achieve sales targets
- Adhere to company policy for pricing and quotations
- Prospect for new business opportunities within assigned territory
- Effectively track activities, collecting customer information and developing opportunities via our CRM, Salesforce.com
- Utilise account and territory planning tools to develop an action plan to achieve sales goals and objectives
- Maintain knowledge of products, services, driven activity, and other general information of interest to customers.
- Position Thermo Fisher Scientific Microbiology as the preferred partner
- Collaborate with internal and external team members to develop account specific strategies and CRM development.
- Connect with other Thermo Fisher Scientific colleagues
- Establish and develop customer relationships to cultivate customer loyalty and allegiance.
- Collaborate with the Sales Manager to provide support and develop strategies for key growth accounts.
- As at least 70% of time is customer-facing this role will require significant daily travel within territory, and possibly some European travel.
- Full and current driving license valid for Italy
- Graduate or equivalent in Microbiology, Biomedical Science or Biological Science
- Outgoing, friendly and confident personality, able to effectively engage with customers across a range of settings spanning one-to-one meetings, exhibitions and formal presentations.
- Relevant laboratory experience will be considered as a plus
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Minimum 2 year of sales experience in Microbiology Field
- Excellent communication skills particularly verbally/face to face
- Knowledge of the Food Safety Molecular Testing Market is a plus
- Must demonstrate the desire to sell Thermo Fisher Scientific Microbiology products and to be successful
- Ability to travel extensively within territory and to attend regional, national or international meetings outside of your territory as required from time to time.
- The role holder must live within the territory (or be able to relocate there within 6 months)
