As an Analog CAD/EDA Engineer, you will provide 1st level design support and consultancy to our internal R&D IC Designers for daily issues related to the development flow and related software tools and methodologies, to improve the quality, efficiency, and time to market of our development projects.In your new role you will:
- Support the R&D team in Padova in their everyday complex situations related to the IC development flow and related software tools and methodologies;
- Implement timely project-specific solutions like workarounds and bug fixes where needed and communicate larger issues to the 2nd level of support within the company or involve EDA vendors;
- Act as the link between central CAD, IT and the design community: help users adapt to new design methodologies and derive requirements to improve existing methodologies in close cooperation with methodology owners and IT;
- Proactively address chip design projects to foster effective application of design methodology, EDA Tools, and effective usage of the IT compute farm;
- Expand your knowledge through training and close collaboration with the CAD support community.
You are committed to creating added value for our internal customers using your excellent communication skills. Furthermore, you are eager to learn new topics and proactively share your knowledge within an international and diverse environment. You are open-minded, supportive, and people oriented.You are best equipped for this task if you have:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or similar field of studies;
- Experience in analog design, and with EDA tools from Cadence: virtuoso, spectre, schematic and layout entry is preferred;
- Experience with scripting languages like Python, Perl or TCL;
- Expertise using Unix/Linux and Data Management (e.g. perforce, clear case, git);
- Fluency in English (mandatory). Italian is a plus.
