For the Central Team of Generali Global Corporate & Commercial (GC&C), we are looking for a Global Head of Artificial Intelligence and Data to join our Operations & IT department. This strategic role will be instrumental in driving the data and AI transformation agenda across GC&C. You will lead the Data Workstream and play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the global AI and data strategy. The successful candidate will oversee AI governance, innovation delivery, and community adoption initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and responsible AI practices.Key responsibilities:
  • Providing leadership for the AI Steering Committee, setting the strategic direction for AI initiatives across GC&C with an emphasis on tailored AI solutions developed internally or sourced from leading providers
  • Collaborating closely with the Core Platform, Process Excellence and Change Management, and IT teams to ensure coherence between planning, strategy, and evolving business requirements
  • Overseeing and operationalizing the Data Governance and Data Workstream, maintaining alignment with global data strategies and organizational objectives
  • Champion innovation through initiatives such as the Acceleration Engine (including projects like DELPHI and Subaru), ensuring the integration of AI solutions into comprehensive end-to-end business processes
  • Promoting a culture of responsible AI usage by embedding ethical guidelines and robust governance frameworks throughout the organization
  • Managing various communities, including AI Champions, Data Stewards, and Subject Matter Experts, through effective leadership
  • Serving as the primary liaison between business units and IT for all Data Governance and AI-related needs, prioritizing solution quality over volume
  • Implementing and institutionalizing adoption methodologies for global data tools and platforms, working in close partnership with the Process Excellence and Change Management team. Monitoring key success metrics, such as adoption rates, data utilization, integration efficiency, and service optimization, to drive continuous improvement
  • Supporting cross-functional collaboration with functional business heads (Finance, Distribution, Technical Excellence, Underwriting, Risk Engineering & Loss Prevention…)
  • Acting as the main point of contact for all bespoke AI solutions for GC&C and Generali Group
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • At least 10 years of experience in leading AI and data transformation initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of Generative AI (GenAI), Large Language Models (LLMs), Machine Learning, Algorithms, and AI ethics and governance
  • Experience with data modeling, data management, and analytics platforms
  • Familiarity with Agile and ITIL methodologies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft tools and cloud-based data solutions
  • Background in the insurance industry or similar regulated environments
  • Strong leadership, cross – cultural communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Preferred Certifications
  • Data Governance or Data Management Certifications (e.g., CDMP, DAMA)
  • Agile Product Owner or Scrum Master Certification
  • ITIL Certification
