Our easy-to-use and consistently reliable offerings help improve workflow efficiency and diagnostic confidence.We are looking for a Field Service Engineer Digital Technologies (m/f/d), who will be preferably based in Roma/Padova/Bologna area.The Field Service Engineer provides technical service and support in the field on mainly Digital Pathology equipment within Leica Biosystems (LBS), following ISO, FDA, and budgetary guidelines with the objectives of minimizing customer downtime and generating revenue opportunities for LBS.Key responsibilities:
  • Provide installation support, maintenance, modification and/or repair on mainly Digital Pathology instruments.
  • Effectively communicate with internal colleagues and external customers within established time guidelines in order to meet customer’s expectations
  • Document and complete service administration activities in a timely manner in order to comply with ISO, FDA, and Company policies
  • Ensure the on-time and appropriate application of all published Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) that are issued by the Business Unit recommending or mandating updates or changes to the Instruments in the field
  • Actively support the sale of service contracts, assist sales representatives and service engineers with system configurations and upgrades, and provide input on ways to improve financial performance in order to generate service revenue
  • Broaden knowledge and experience to improve product, application and professional development skills and ultimately, represent the company in a professional manner
  • Maintain spare parts stock within budgetary limits in order to maximize “Fast Time Fix” repair metrics
  • Control expenses in order to maximize the profit contribution to the company

The essential requirements of the job include: ​
  • Educated in Mechanical, Electronic or Electronical Technology.
  • At least 4 years of experience as a FSE in the Biomedical industry, dealing with Hospital equipments (diagnostic laboratories)
  • Fluent English (both written and spoken)
  • Knowledge of network configuration and setup such as firewalls and TCP/IP networking components in a Windows environment. Remote storage management, domain and non-domain related group policies, firewall knowledge.
  • Proven ability to learn in technical areas with limited previous experience.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
  • Experience in Anatomy Pathology will be a plus
  • Knowledge of Digital Pathology Integration solutions and software installations advantageous.
  • Database management skills, Windows Server 2008 – 2022 & virtual machines.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
  • Willingness to travel extensively (80% of travel activity with some trainings abroad)
  • Ability to carry & move up to 25kg safely.
