You will provide deep technical expertise in enterprise SQL Server platforms, supporting customers across on‑premises, hybrid, and modernization scenarios.You will work with mission‑critical data platforms, helping customers design, operate, secure, and optimize SQL Server environments with a strong focus on availability, performance, security, and operational excellence.Responsibilities:Act as a technical authority for SQL Server platforms within Global Delivery engagementsDesign, deploy, and support enterprise‑scale SQL Server architectures, primarily on‑premises and hybridDiagnose and resolve complex issues related to:Performance bottlenecksAvailability and reliabilityQuery and workload optimizationDesign and support High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) solutions, including:Failover ClusteringAlways On Availability GroupsBackup and restore strategiesLead and support SQL Server upgrades and migrations between versionsOptimize SQL Server configurations for:ScalabilityCapacity planningOperational stabilityImplement and validate SQL Server security best practices, including:Authentication and authorizationEncryptionLeast‑privilege accessCollaborate with internal teams to deliver repeatable, high‑quality Global Delivery outcomesContribute to technical documentation, best practices, and SQL Server knowledge sharing initiativesQualifications:Strong experience in one or more of the following areas is required:Microsoft SQL Server administration (enterprise environments)SQL Server architecture and internalsPerformance tuning and query optimizationHigh Availability and Disaster Recovery:Always On Availability GroupsFailover ClusteringBackup and recoverySQL Server installation, configuration, and patchingCapacity planning and scalabilityTroubleshooting using:SQL Server logsPerformance countersWait statistics and execution plansDesirable Skills:Experience in one or more of the following areas is desirable:Windows Server internals as related to SQL ServerStorage and I/O architectureNetworking fundamentals (latency, throughput, connectivity)SQL Server security:Authentication methodsPermissions and rolesEncryption and auditingIntegration with Active Directory (authentication, service accounts)Hybrid and modernization exposure (on‑prem SQL Server with cloud connectivity)Familiarity with Azure SQL offerings is a plus (contextual, not mandatory)Location: Italy - Work at HomeLanguage Requirements:Time Type:
