Sector: Hyperscale Data Centres | Mission-Critical InfrastructureA leading European data centre delivery partner is seeking two experienced Quantity Surveyors to join a major hyperscale data centre project in Milan.This is a senior commercial role with responsibility for cost control, subcontractor management, and client engagement across complex M&E and civil/structural packages. You will support the delivery of turnkey mission-critical projects, ensuring cost efficiency, contract compliance, and timely reporting.Key Responsibilities
- Develop subcontract tender packages, analyse received bids, and present options to senior management
- Negotiate with subcontractors, conduct pre-let meetings, and issue subcontract orders
- Manage multiple subcontract packages from order through to final account, including remeasurement and claims management
- Maintain and submit monthly cost reports, including end-of-project projections in collaboration with site teams
- Attend stakeholder meetings with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Resolve client/subcontractor disputes effectively and professionally
- Prepare and submit valuations, ensuring certification and tracking for invoicing
- Measure work packages from drawings and apply rates to develop accurate package pricing
- Manage project budgets under direction of the Project Director
- Compile monthly commercial reports and maintain cost documentation
- Ensure timely submission of claims/notices in accordance with contract provisions
- Mentor and support junior commercial team members
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying
- Minimum 7+ years’ experience in commercial/quantity surveying roles within M&E or civil/structural contracting
- Proven experience with subcontractor procurement, package management, and claims resolution
- Strong understanding of commercial procedures, valuations, and contract administration
- Excellent organisation, communication, and time management skills
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail
- Team-focused with mentoring experience in commercial or site teams
- Data centre project experience is advantageous but not essential
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project
- Work on high-value mission-critical data centre projects in Milan
