Power 4 Future, a Fincantieri Group company and a leader in the development and production of Energy Storage Systems (ESS) for marine, industrial, and military applications, is looking for a Junior R&D Engineer in Power Electronics to support the development of power conversion systems integrated with lithium-ion battery modules and racks.This is a permanent (open-ended) position based in Cassino.Key Responsibilities
  • Support the design and validation of power converters for ESS applications (DC/DC, bidirectional converters, DC/AC inverters)
  • Assist in the development of control algorithms for energy storage systems
  • Contribute to system integration between battery racks, BMS, and power conversion systems
  • Support testing and validation activities (functional, efficiency, thermal, and endurance tests)
  • Assist in high-voltage DC system design (up to 1000–1500 V)
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis during laboratory and field testing
  • Contribute to technical documentation and certification support
Required Qualifications
  • MSc in Electrical Engineering with focus on Power Electronics
  • Basic knowledge of converter topologies (buck, boost, bidirectional, inverter)
  • Understanding of control systems and modulation techniques (PWM)
  • Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink
  • Knowledge of high-voltage DC systems preferred
  • Basic understanding of lithium-ion battery systems is a plus
  • Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with simulation tools for power electronics
  • Basic knowledge of digital control implementation
  • Interest in marine or high-reliability industrial applications
