- Elicitation of needs and constraints from stakeholders and industry standards;
- Creation, derivation, analysis, justification and maintenance of Mission Control Software specifications
- Creation, maintenance and prioritisation of D-Orbit's Mission Control Software Product Backlog
- Generation and maintenance of Mission Control Software documentation, including Design Description Files, Interface Control Documents, User Manuals, Training material, etc.
- Generation and maintenance of System Analysis Reports, including Time budgets, Data budgets, Availability
- Generation of Mission Control Software Engineering Plans (e.g. Design and Development Plans, Verification and Validation Plans, Installation and Integration Plans, etc)
- Preparation, execution and reporting of V&V activities for the Mission Control Software
- Monitoring and control of ground systems engineering activities in the Mission Control Software team
- Mentoring of more junior ground systems engineers
- Support as first-line troubleshooting support to internal and external stakeholders
- Support to other D-Orbit programs requiring D-Orbit Mission Control Software support
- Support the generation, elicitation or derivation of program-specific requirements
- Planning and conduction of training campaigns for D-Orbit's Mission Control Centre personnel
- Provide technical support to D-Orbit's Mission Control Centre in executing operations when required as Technical Solution Expert
- Interface with AIV team and support related activities;
- Interface with Flight Operations development and execution teams and support related activities
- Interface with external stakeholders (e.g. customers, suppliers, partners, institutions, regulators) representing D-Orbit's technical team within the frame of the programs you will support;
- Demonstrable experience assuming Product Owner responsibilities within an Agile-based software development team
- Demonstrable experience in design and development of Mission Control Software;
- Demonstrable experience in verification and validation of Mission Control Software;
- Track record of multiple successful deliveries of milestone data packs on quality and in time within the context of big institutional space programs;
- Demonstrable experience in successfully driving technical activities involving the coordination of multiple external stakeholders;
- Solid knowledge of typical ground segment solution architectures;
- Experience authoring technical documents to the standards of institutional players in the space industry;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
- Solid knowledge of relevant space industry standards (e.g. ECSS, CCSDS);
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Proactive attitude and ability to work in teams and individually;
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively;
- Full professional proficiency in English;
- Demonstrable experience in design, development, verification and validation of Mission Planning Systems;
- Demonstrable experience working with Ground Station Providers and Space Tracking Service Providers;
- Demonstrable experience working with Spacecraft Simulators;
- Professional exposure to real-time flight operations of space and/or ground systems;
- Strong knowledge in Systems Engineering;
- Strong knowledge in space industry communications link architectures, protocols and budgeting;
- Strong knowledge of Linux-based Operating Systems;
- Strong software programming skills;
- Good knowledge of space mission analysis and flight dynamics, and related computational tools (e.g. STK, FreeFlyer, GMAT, Orekit or GODOT);
- Good knowledge using requirements management tools, e.g. DOORS or Jama;
- Good knowledge of Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket);
- Good knowledge of software development and configuration management tools, e.g. GIT or Bitbucket;
