- Own the Story Lifecycle: Take full ownership of the end-to-end lifecycle—from technical design to production release—ensuring that product stories are robust, scalable, and meet all user requirements.
- Accelerate Activation & Trust: Build and optimise the high-reliability systems behind onboarding, document verification, and security flows, ensuring users can start transacting safely within minutes.
- Drive Engagement & Discovery: Enhance the app experience by developing core backend services for shop discovery, transaction management, and personalised consumer journeys through CRM integrations.
- Scale Loyalty & Monetisation: Contribute to our “Plus” subscription plans, referral programs, and loyalty mechanics (points and rewards), building the technical foundation for long-term user retention.
- Master a Modern Tech Stack: Take ownership of our AWS-based infrastructure (EC2/ECS, S3, Lambda, Kinesis) and participate in architectural improvements across our growth-focused microservices.
- Work in an AI-Powered Environment: Leverage AI tools daily to write and optimise code, speed up root cause analysis, and generate documentation, raising the bar for engineering efficiency.
- Ensure Quality and Stability: Conduct technical analysis, accurately estimate effort, and participate in incident resolution (including root cause analysis) to ensure technical transparency and system health.
- Collaborate & Document: Create comprehensive technical documentation for your features and collaborate cross-functionally with Product and Stakeholders to align your work with the roadmap.
- Experience: You have at least 3 years of experience as a Backend Engineer, with a strong track record of building and maintaining scalable microservices in fast-paced environments.
- Technical Foundations: Solid expertise in Java and Spring Boot, with a good understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL) and cloud environments (AWS is a plus).
- Growth Mindset: You care about performance and user experience. You understand that small technical improvements in onboarding or loyalty flows can have a massive impact on millions of users.
- Reliability & Documentation: You are structured in your approach, enjoy writing clear technical documentation, and focus on building maintainable, high-quality code.
- Teamwork and Communication: You excel at cross-functional collaboration and can communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical peers.
- Passion and Language Skills: You are passionate about FinTech, user growth, or startup environments and are fluent in English.
