- Own and evolve the overall technical architecture of DelcoNet ensuring scalability, reliability and long-term maintainability.
- Translate product requirements and concepts from the Product Manager into concrete technical solutions, balancing speed, quality and sustainability.
- Define and enforce engineering standards, coding best practices and development processes across the team.
- Make key architectural decisions — infrastructure, integrations, platform evolution — and communicate trade-offs clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Drive the technical roadmap in alignment with the product roadmap, identifying dependencies, risks and priorities proactively.
- Design and own integrations with external systems (e.g. blood center management systems, scheduling systems, third-party APIs), ensuring robust and maintainable interfaces.
- Technically proficient and comfortable writing and reviewing code directly. This role requires active, hands-on software development alongside architectural design and partner coordination.
- Lead and mentor internal developers, providing clear technical direction, reviewing work and supporting professional growth.
- Identify and manage external technology partners and vendors: evaluate proposals, oversee deliverables, ensure alignment with technical standards and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with the Product Manager and VP of Products, acting as the primary technical voice in product and strategic discussions.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- Drive the adoption of AI tools and capabilities within the product and within the development workflow itself.
- Work alongside the AI Lead to evaluate, prototype and implement AI-powered features — including prompt management systems, automation workflows and intelligent scheduling.
- Stay current with the rapidly evolving AI landscape: understand new models, frameworks, implementation patterns and tooling.
- Champion AI-assisted development practices (e.g. Cursor, GitHub Copilot, agentic coding tools) to accelerate delivery quality and speed.
- 7+ years of software development experience, with at least 3 years in a technical lead or software architect role.
- Proven track record of owning and delivering enterprise-grade software platforms — from architecture through production.
- Demonstrated experience managing or mentoring developers, and coordinating with external vendors or technology partners.
- Background in agile environments with iterative delivery practices.
- Experience in IoT platforms, managing devices, security and data flows is a plus.
- Experience in health tech, medtech or regulated software environments is a plus.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken). Italian is a plus.
- Strong command of C# and ASP.NET (Framework and/or Core) — the primary backend stack at Delcon.
- Solid experience in Web API / REST service design and development.
- Proficiency in SQL Server: schema design, query optimisation, stored procedures.
- Ability to work across the full stack: HTML/CSS, JavaScript and frontend frameworks or libraries (e.g. jQuery, React or similar).
- Experience with Windows Server, IIS deployments and IaaS infrastructure management.
- Strong understanding of layered and service-oriented architectures (e.g. controller / service / repository patterns).
- Familiarity with DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, deployment automation.
- Working knowledge of AI/ML concepts and practical experience integrating AI capabilities into software products.
- Familiarity with large language model (LLM) ecosystems (OpenAI, Anthropic/Claude, Google AI) and prompt engineering principles.
- Experience with — or strong curiosity toward — AI-assisted development tools.
- Ability to evaluate emerging AI tools, assess their applicability to products and formulate evidence-based recommendations.
- Entrepreneurial mindset — comfortable with ambiguity, able to work with autonomy and move fast without sacrificing quality.
- Strong communicator: able to translate complex technical topics for non-technical stakeholders and translate business needs into technical requirements.

- Experience with AI agent frameworks or automation tools (N8N, Make/Integromat) and workflow automation.

- Knowledge of project management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Notion or similar platforms.
