- Define and implement maintenance policies for mechanical equipment and propose new strategies when required.
- Contribute to reliability studies and define maintenance schedules aligning with established strategies.
- Supervise the execution of maintenance programs in collaboration with site personnel and organize comprehensive mechanical audits based on predefined specifications and yearly objectives.
- Develop and validate specific procedures and instructions for routine and major mechanical maintenance intervention.
- Contribute to ShutDown mechanical preparation to achieve shortfall target. Manage operational interfaces with other departments to define an opportunity job list or scope.
- Analyze functional parameters of mechanical equipment to detect incipient failures and react proposing corrective actions to avoid unplanned failures on critical machines.
- Monitor condition-based maintenance activities and track equipment performance and recommend improvements to optimize maintenance practices.
- Participate in the selection of equipment and maintenance engineering within revamp and small project contexts.
- Manage spare parts by overseeing MRP, addressing obsolescence, and ensuring optimization of immobilized stock.
- Oversee both direct and indirect contractors, with particular attention to third-party companies and the adequacy of equipment used on company installations and establish and consolidate specifications for outsourced services.
- Report anomalies and incidents, participate in root cause analyses, and ensure proper follow-up on action plans.
- Contribute to the preparation of annual budgets for maintenance, major overhauls, and development work, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints while monitoring intervention costs.
- Integrate campaign mode into maintenance execution where applicable to optimize resources and associated workload.
- Provide support to contractors for advanced diagnostics and preparation of scheduled or unscheduled shutdowns.
- Address emergencies related to critical equipment and assessed their impact on ongoing activities to determine necessary trade-offs
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; a master's degree is a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the testing and certification industry.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical system design and analysis.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASME, ISO).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in engineering software (e.g., CAD, FEM analysis tools).
- Strong communication skills in English; Italian is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
