Offer DescriptionThe research activity is aimed at the development and testing of a cryogenic system for the COSMO (COSmic Monopole Observer) experiment. The system must cool to cryogenic temperatures a low-resolution, high-throughput Fourier transform interferometer (a few K), the reference blackbody (around 3-5 K), and two arrays of kinetic inductance detectors (at 100 mK).
The development also includes the implementation of a system for precision monitoring and control of the temperatures of the various parts of the optical system, the different stages of the cryogenic system, the reference blackbody, and the detectors.
