- Define and implement data mastering strategies for critical investment and reference datasets.
- Design and maintain a central Data Registry/Catalogue to track ownership, lineage, and classification across the enterprise.
- Implement data lineage and metadata management solutions to support transparency and auditability.
- Contribute to enterprise data governance practices, ensuring alignment with regulatory and compliance frameworks (e.g., MiFID, PRIIPs, ESG data quality).
- Lead modernization of legacy SQL Server environments and design integration pathways into data lake / Fabric architecture.
- Optimize SQL Server performance, indexing, and ETL integration with Fabric / Synapse pipelines.
- Define and document data architecture principles and reference models to guide secure development across the enterprise.
- Design data integration solutions with vendor systems (e.g., Bloomberg, MSCI, fund administrators, CRM, compliance tools).
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and deployment using Azure DevOps.
- Support versioning, testing, and deployment automation for Fabric or Synapse data pipelines.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake) alongside Microsoft Fabric to support diverse data workloads.
- Support and enhance existing data platforms and contribute to the evolution of data strategy, roadmap, and target-state architecture.
- Work closely with application developers to ensure seamless data integration across systems.
- Collaborate with the data developers’ team to design, implement and deploy reports with PowerBI platform.
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in data engineering within asset management, or a related field.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with OLTP, OLAP & Spark based data infrastructure.
- Proficiency in Python for notebook-based data engineering and automation within Fabric or Synapse environments.
- Familiarity with Azure services such as Data Lake, Synapse, and Azure DevOps.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Lakehouse, Real-Time Analytics): nice to have MS cerifications such as: Fabric Data Engineer Associate or Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate.
- Familiarity with visualisation tools, primarily PowerBI.
- Experience with data modeling, performance tuning, and scalable architecture design.
- The ability to collaborate with business stakeholders to translate investment data needs into actionable technical requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical audiences in order to support informed decision-making.
- Understanding of data repository and governance frameworks for Enterprise data management.
- A proactive, hands-on approach, with the self-motivation to lead and drive data solutions across the company.
