As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for satellite architecture, design, development and qualification of small satellites.If you put the customer at the heart of your thoughts and actions and always strive to provide a service of excellence, aspire to outstanding results, and use your resources sustainably, you are best equipped for us.DUTIESSmall Satellite System Engineer activities include, but are not limited to:
  • Technical responsibility for system level activities.
  • Day-to-day coordination with the Program Manager, Unit Heads, Technical Area Responsibles, and Subsystem Engineers.
  • Generation of the system engineering plans, including design and development plan, and verification and validation plan.
  • Definition and management of technical requirements and specifications.
  • Definition and management of concepts of operations and mission profiles.
  • Management of system architectures.
  • Management of system and sub-systems trade-offs.
  • Management of system budgets.
  • Management of reliability analysis, including FMEA and FMECA.
  • Management of environmental analyses, including radiation analyses.
  • Management of interfaces between Space Segment, Ground Segment and Launch Segment.
  • Support to Mission Analysis team.
  • Lead the preparation of technical documentation for reviews with the customers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Review of technical documentation related to the system and subsystems.
  • Preparation of technical proposals for new projects.
  • Support to AIT, AIV and qualification activities.
  • Support to NRB, CCB, and PCB.
  • Support to risk assessment and management.
  • Support to flight operations.
  • Provide technical leadership and tutorship to junior members of the team.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering (preferably) or related Science/Engineering field.
  • 3+ years of work experience in similar roles.
  • High flexibility and team-working capability.
  • Hands-on and proactive approach.
  • Ability to work with tight schedules.
  • Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary and international teams.
  • Ability to effectively interface with external stakeholders.
  • Very good knowledge of Italian and English languages (minimum B2 level).
REQUIRED EXPERIENCES & SKILLS
  • Previous experience in design, development and qualification of satellites with similar duties.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of satellite architecture and design.
  • Experience in management of industrial activities including project reviews.
  • Experienced knowledge of aerospace systems applicable standards, such as ECSS, MIL STD, NASA STD.
  • Experienced Knowledge of Valispace or similar tools for requirements management.
ADDITIONAL ASSETS
  • Knowledge of the Ground Segment utilization.
  • Knowledge of Launch Segment utilization.
  • Frequency and spectrum management.
  • Knowledge of Electromagnetic Compatibility applicable standards and related activities.
  • Knowledge of Contamination Control applicable standards and related activities.
  • Knowledge of the Test-as-you-fly philosophy
  • Knowledge of availability analysis
