This position is in support of the USAREUR-AF Mission Partner SETAF-AF, located in Vicenza, Italy. This position is located OCONUS.Responsibilities:Supports design, implementation, and sustainment of virtualization solutions (e.g., Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), Virtual Private Network (VPN)) solutions across multiple networks and classifications, including C2 system applicationsOperates and maintains a dynamic multimode VPN to enable enterprise access for remote sitesEnsures all virtual systems are configured with the current system architectures and IAW MP policiesOperates and maintains servers, storage, applications, and network equipment required for VDI server environments, VDI storage area networks, desktop environments (e.g., Citrix, VMware), and user endpointsEnsures virtual systems comply with cybersecurity requirements and specific system ATOsIntegrates, tests, implements, manages, and operates virtualized operating systems, middleware, and applicationsSupports networks that interface with other coalition networks that operate a VDI environmentCreates Virtual Machines (VMs), including Theater Geospatial Database (TGD) virtual machinesApplies virtualization strategies, architectures, platforms, and tools to ensure performance optimization, continuity, recovery, security best practices, and high availabilityAssesses emerging policies and technologies to determine impact to current solutions and develops Analyses of Alternatives (AoAs) to provide recommendations for modernization and technology insertions that improve performance, security, and availabilityContributes to the POA&M for recommended modifications and upgrades to servers, software, and services, as well as Testing Procedures Documentation and ReportsUses Government-provided monitoring tools to identify potential incidents or degradations of services, applications, or networksResponds to incident management system requests for technical supportPossesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high-impact assignmentsFunctions as a technical expert across multiple project assignmentsMentors other virtualization engineers and may supervise othersQualifications:Required:Currently hold an adjudicated Secret Clearance and have the ability to maintainBA/BS +8-12 years recent experienceCertification – 8140 - Cloud+ or GICSP or SSCP or Security+ or GSECExhibits extensive expertise in virtualization technologies, including VDI, VPN, and enterprise-level virtualization platforms across multiple networks and classifications.Possesses comprehensive knowledge of cybersecurity requirements, system architectures, and implementation of virtualization solutions in complex environments, preferably with experience in TGD virtual machines.Exhibits advanced problem-solving skills in optimizing performance, ensuring high availability, and implementing security best practices for virtualized systems.Applies strategic thinking to assess emerging technologies and develop analyses of alternatives for system modernization.Showcases leadership abilities through mentoring junior engineers and supervising technical teams.Demonstrates proficiency in incident management, technical documentation, and cross-functional collaboration for large-scale virtualization projects.Possesses extensive experience in cloud architecture and enterprise systems, preferably with knowledge of specific DoD/Army standards, including DISA and RMF.TESA eligibleDesired:Adaptable to changing circumstances and operational needsUnderstanding of Department of Defense Military standardsExperience with DoD IT security requirements-What You Can Expect:A culture of integrity.At CACI, we place character and innovation at the center of everything we do.
