- Partners with technical leadership to drive the full employee lifecycle (onboarding, recruitment, talent development, and career management) in line with MSC's HR corporate strategy, while embedding a technology-forward and data-driven approach into people processes;
- Collaborates with the UK Talent Acquisition team to secure high-calibre technical and operational talent, leveraging innovative sourcing strategies to support business growth;
- Ensures the most effective and efficient organizational design and development to optimize operational structures in complex technical environments;
- Aligns total reward solutions with company standards and market trends, supporting retention of technical expertise and operational leadership;
- Supports technical leaders in fostering employee engagement, career development, and continuous professional learning with a focus on future-ready skills and innovation capabilities;
- Advises and coaches managers on employee performance, absence management, employee relations, and disciplinary processes, ensuring compliance with Italian labour law and CCNL "Armatori di terra";
- Acts as a trusted advisor on employee relations and operational HR issues, ensuring policies and processes foster efficiency and compliance in technical office settings;
- Manages local HR processes to ensure regulatory compliance while driving process optimization and operational excellence;
- Enacts company talent management frameworks, including Individual Performance Management, people development and succession planning;
- Applies a data-driven mindset to HR management, producing analytical reports and HR metrics that inform operational decision-making and continuous improvement efforts;
- Champions a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within HR operations, integrating digital tools and lean methodologies where appropriate;
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of HR legislation, best practices, and emerging trends in technical workforce management, ensuring the HR function evolves in line with business and industry advancements.
- A BSc/BA in HR Management, Law, Business Administration, or a related discipline; alternatively, significant experience as a Senior HR Manager or HR Business Partner in a medium/large organization;
- Robust knowledge of Italian employment law and HR best practices together with a robust working practice applying these standards;
- Experience interacting with Italian Trade Unions;
- Demonstrated leadership experience within multinational companies operating in technical, industrial, or operational sectors such as engineering, shipping, shipbuilding, shipyard operations, maritime services, or large-scale industrial projects;
- Familiarity with lean maintenance principles, operational excellence, and continuous improvement frameworks in technical or operational environments;
- Ability to manage HR within complex, matrix organizations and cross-cultural contexts, ideally within safety-critical industries;
- Strategic mindset with the ability to partner closely with technical leadership on workforce planning, organizational design, talent management, and succession planning;
- Strong analytical skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HR reporting tools;
- Resilient, able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent oral and written English;
- The existing right to live and work in Italy is preferred.
