With operations across eight domestic markets (Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Ukraine, and Italy) and additional export markets, Vetropack continues to invest in the future of glass packaging — including our new, state‑of‑the‑art production plant in Boffalora, Italy, designed to deliver greater flexibility, capacity, and sustainable manufacturing.We’re looking for a OT Application Consultant to support the optimization and enhancement of our OT applications, focusing on operational process improvements, technical solutions, and seamless system integration.Your Role & ImpactYour mission is to provide consulting services, assist in the implementation and maintenance of OT applications, and ensure that our OT systems align with operational goals. You will work closely with your superior, all your team members within Digital Factory and in collaboration with Production and Technical Engineering teams across Group locations with goal to drive innovation and supporting the organization’s digital transformation efforts.What You’ll Do
  • Operational Process Analysis: Analyze and optimize complex operational processes to ensure seamless integration and best fit of OT systems with high user experience.
  • OT System Integration: Support the integration of OT applications with existing systems, ensuring alignment with operational goals and delivering value.
  • Continuous Improvement of existing and new OT applications, including demand management and roadmap creation in close collaboration with IT Business Partners.
  • Application Maintenance: Plan maintenance schedules considering plant downtimes to maintain and optimize specific OT applications within the defined portfolio, ensuring their reliability and efficiency.
  • Project Management: Manage smaller projects focused on replacing or upgrading individual OT applications, coordinating project activities, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining the quality and reliability of the applications.
  • Technical Solutions and Support: Assist in configuring, programming, and troubleshooting OT applications, providing technical solutions and support to resolve issues and enhance system performance.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand operational requirements, translate them into effective technical solutions, and communicate complex concepts to stakeholders.
  • Training and Documentation: Create comprehensive training materials, provide training sessions, and maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure knowledge transfer and operational continuity in own area of responsibility.
Requirements
  • Traditional Manufacturing IT Technologies: Knowledge of technologies and systems such as Siemens PCS7, Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), and Fieldbus systems.
  • Digital Manufacturing Platforms: Knowledge of digital manufacturing platforms (e.g., Siemens MindSphere, GE Predix) and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
  • IT & OT Architectures: Foundational competence in designing and implementing manufacturing IT architectures, ensuring seamless integration of IT and OT systems for optimized manufacturing operations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Good collaboration skills to work with stakeholders from diverse departments (e.g., IT, technology, operations) and external vendors or partners.
  • Business Process Management: Solid understanding of relevant business processes and the ability to visualize processes and their improvement potential.
  • Adaptability: Able to follow in rapidly evolving technology landscapes, adapting to new digital trends and shifting business priorities while maintaining operational excellence.
